Emmaline and Milt were heading back to their apartment after seeing Miles Davis at Birdland. A night of Beats, riffs, smoke and bourbon. The air had a nibble of winter and a slight kiss of summer, making it a sharply romantic spring evening..

The glow from the night - the scent of Emmaline’s perfume - both combined to defeat the smells of the subway. The sounds of Davis still reverberated in their souls. The downbeats, the free flowing notes and the perfectly placed pauses of silence gave off a vibe that made the two of them feel as though their mortal souls had been saved. Their presence on earth - merely a temporary moment in eternity.

A song from the Graphic Novel Soundtrack 'The Eternal Hush of Silence' ‘The Eternal Hush of Silence’ follows the lives of seven people in New York City during the spring, summer and fall of 1952. It’s a tale of bop, love, hate, sex, violence and tenderness.
